Mine Started with flowers.
Hi, I’m Brooke - Founder and Creative Director of Deliberately Adopted and consultant for purpose-driven entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders. I’m a mama of two beautiful, joy-filled little boys. And at 30 years old opened up a floral shop and events business.
But my story began long before I ever ran a business or produced a successful event.
It started with my grandma. She was a florist and creative - the kind of woman who believed flowers could heal, soften a room and say what words sometimes couldn’t. She never passed up an opportunity to stop and smell the flowers with me. Her hospitality to all of those her and my grandpa came in contact with from their business to their home, people never failed to say “Bonnie & Phil adopted me.”
I learned early:
-flowers make people feel seen
-design is a form of storytelling
-beauty can hold space for emotion
That legacy is the inspiration behind everything I do.
My Experience
Before becoming a founder, my career lived in the nonprofit and communications world.
For over a decade, I worked in
strategic communications
marketing and brand messaging
donor engagement and retention
corporate partnerships and fundraising events
I’ve led campaigns and events that raised missions of dollars for community impact. My Masters Degree in Public Relations focused specifically on the impact of utilizing PR and communications to create sustainable community change and impact surrounding critical social issues.
In every role - whether speaking to donors, designing an event, or building a brand - one truth always surfaced: People don’t invest in products or programs. They invest in story.
